Community paramedicine is a new and evolving model of healthcare where paramedics provide onsite care to the homeless and higher risk individuals as a preventive means to reduce demand on emergency care facilities.  Paramedics work together with doctors and social service providers.  We are the first county in the State to implement this program.

The mission of the Spatial Data Analysis and Visualization (SDAV) lab at UH Hilo is to
apply geospatial tools to environmental problems of local significance, and to disseminate
geospatial tools and knowledge to the larger island community through education and
outreach activities. Our lab utilizes a suite of geospatial technologies such as unmanned
aerial system (UAS) platforms, LiDAR, and hyperspectral imaging, to support ongoing
research and educational projects.

The essence of Aloha is at the heart of Lani’s dedicated efforts to educate and inform the public on palliative and end of life choices.  It takes a village to raise a healthy community, says Lani. So building collaborative relationships with community leaders, physicians, healthcare advocates and other medical professionals is a top priority.  Through education and awareness she hopes to empower people to make informed choices that can positively affect their quality of life and those they love.

Judi operated her own business for many years. She earned the designation of Certified Business Consultant and has worked with both Idaho and Hawaii SBDC for a total of over 5 years.  She served 20 years in the U.S. Marines, earned a BS in Accounting, MS in Financial Management, and PhD in Adult & Organizational Learning and Leadership.  She has strong skills in finance, process improvement and strategic planning.  Her background is finance, her education is business and her passion is people.  Judi enjoys working with entrepreneurs to generate sustainable growth in their businesses.
