Kevin's Last Meeting
Kevin spared the membership of a year-end review and instead will write a report and email. Kevin did want to thank the following for their support:
Dale-- stepping up from President-Elect to President
Bettye-- being there as past president
Tim-- excellent secretary; withstood frustrations working with RI and ClubRunner program
Paula-- quietest hard worker keeping us out of trouble financially
Debra and Marlene-- come early; every meeting working
Mike C-- even while tending to his wife's mending, managed to step up for Oktoberfest
James T-- Rainbow Pride, dictionary, and all other projects
Miyuki-- international programs and help on Japan trip with Carol V.
New Generations-- Tom W. coordinating student exchange; youth programs Interact w/ Miyuki; Keaau Interact with over 100 student members with Alan and Sharon; Rotoract enthusiastic students
Lorraine-- setup several vocational programs; started to straighten bylaws with Tim
AV-- Steve and Dale; microphone working every meeting
Alan N.-- fundraising coordination
Chester-- district and international grant programs; jumps through all the hoops related to the grants
Katie-- the woman who does not need a microphone; district award for membership increase for a small club
Program and newsletter-- Roy for filling in;
RI Foundation-- Alan did fantastic job with polio plus and educating us on Rotary principles
HRYF-- Richard great job as usual
Installation of Incoming President
Dale Tokuuke was installed as the Rotary Club of Hilo Bay's 29th president. Dale and wife, Sandy, paid the difference for a fabulous breakfast featuring an omelette station. Rose Bautista (Steve Bader's wife), representing the Mayor's Office, conducted the oath to install our incoming President and Board members.
Guest Rotarian Randy Hart-- $5 for Steve J. and James T. for their support at the brewfest; $10 for taking over as AG.
Yu Yok-- $5 for husband, Mike, being able to join the installation celebration of Dale's term; happy to see Dale's family, Sandy and Erin.
Kevin-- $44 for celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary; able to meet lots of people at the Rotary International convention; visit to Brazil was very successful.
Katie-- $5 for traveling to Seattle, going to Queen concert, Alaskan cruise, going to see Dad in Colorado, and Mom & grandparents in Wisconsin.
Barbara-- $5 in honor of sister, Marie, who passed; wrote her own obit-- in lieu of flowers, do a good deed.
