Volunteer opportunity - Continuing through January, 2021 -- Junichi Noumaru
State Department of Health and UH Nursing request Rotarians to help for the face mask observation. One or a pair of volunteers will count the number of people who (a) wear the mask correctly, (b) wear the mask in correctly and (c) don't wear the mask at a designated location from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturdays:

Airport Post Office
Target/Walmart/Safeway
Hilo Farmers Market
Since Saturday morning is a favorite time slot for webinars/meetings by D5000, the host is considering to widen the time frame in the Saturday afternoon.

Richard Cunningham - HRYF.
Richard is making a Koa box as incentive to contribute to HRYF. The money contributed goes towards scholarships for our Hawaii Island Youth.

Vocational Speaker Preston Barnes IV January 20, 2021
Wednesday’s Vocational Speaker was Preston Barnes IV. He is a “Plantation Kid” from Pahala who attended St Joseph’s School then went to the Mainland to attend Drury College where he received his degree in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration. After several jobs over the next 7 years he went to work for the Vanguard Group in 1998, Diversified Investment Advisors 2002, One America Securities 2005, National Financial Partners Retirement 2006, then Equitable Advisors 2018 to present as a Financial Consultant. According to Vanguard, Advisors may add about 3 points of net portfolio return over time. He also specializes in Retirement Plan Consulting helping Business Owners. His goal as a specialist is “to help create successful retirement plan outcomes for plan sponsors and participants alike”. His practice involves Support, Consulting, and Guidance. In his professional and personal life he incorporates the Four Way Test and acts with the highest degree of integrity, trust, honesty, ethics and conduct.
