Oktoberfest
Katie L. reminded members to submit their Oktoberfest Silent Auction Contribution Form. Each member is encouraged to contribute-- an item you have asked a business to donate, an item you personally donate, a gift certificate, or buy extra tickets. You may bring the item to a regular meeting by 9/21/16, or ask to have it picked up. Please fill out and return the contribution form by mail or email according to instructions on the form.
All members are needed to play a role in our Oktoberfest fundraiser. Come to our next meeting on August 24 to determine how you can best contribute. This meeting will be a Club Assembly to plan the event, led by chair David D.
Paul and Jane Field, members of the Volcano Rotary Club, have been dedicated volunteer stewards of the Volcano National Park rainforest. They will be leading an East Hawaii Rotarians work day on September 24, Saturday, chosen as the work day in celebration of National Public Lands Day. There will be no park entrance fee on this day. The work day is in recognition of the 100th anniversary of both Rotary in Hawaii and the park. The task is daunting and all hands are appreciated. Paul and Jane explained the challenge.
