Guest Speaker

Guest Speaker April 14 2021 PDG Win Schoneman

Wednesday’s Guest Speaker, PDG Win Schoneman, joined us to discuss leaving a legacy to Rotary. The Rotary Endowment was established in 1917 to do good in the world. It was renamed The Endowment Fund in 2013. The Endowment Fund is Rotary’s Investment Fund and consists of donations of cash, stocks, real property, or other financial investments are redeemed and invested into a portfolio that conserves the gift into perpetuity. During the 2019-2020 Year the Endowment Fund provided spendable earnings of $17.6 million in support of the work of the Rotary Foundation. The demand for Grants is ever increasing. The Endowment Fund holds a relatively conservative portfolio and provides stability and growth. Giving to the fund is easy; it can be done online at www.rotary.org/donate or by a fillable form available from Win. He reminded us that Annual Gifts are important and provide the bulk of funding to our service and that Planned Giving to Rotary’s Endowment Fund supports the same life-changing programs forever.
