Announcements by the President

  • Thanked Mary for organizing the club social last week.
  • We will be dark April 17 th
    • On April 17, Rotary International President Gordon McInally will speak at luncheon at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel. Tickets are $45. Lunch to be followed by a Genki ball toss at Lili`uoukalani Park and a peace ceremony. Interested attendees should RSVP to District 5000, and submit their payment.
  • The YWCA Remarkable People Luncheon will be on Thurs, April 18 th ; 11:30-1:30 at Hilo Hawaiian Hotel, Moku`ola Ballroom. Our member Irene Nagao will be honored. Bryan would like the club to purchase a Silver Table.
  • Art Taniguchi is being honored as a Distinguished Alumni from Hilo High School

Happy Dollars

  • Anita. $10. Anita gave 5 happy dollars because she ran into former member Jane Gibson. When Anita told Jane she was going to give 5 happy dollars for their encounter, Jane matched a second 5 happy dollars
  • Mary. $10. When she was president of our club, Jane Gibson helped her set up the room for meetings.
  • Virginia. $20. She and Bob are back from a visit to Milwaukee and New York City. She is also happy that her granddaughter Margaret graduated from Naval Boot Camp.
  • Bob. $40. He is proud of their granddaughter, enjoyed snow in Wisconsin, happy to find people in New York are nice.
  • Alan. It’s time to bid aloha to the kolea birds who will be leaving for Alaska this week.
  • Richard. He will be leaving soon on a trip, and is looking forward to meeting friends.
  • Chester. $20. He is back from Vegas where he played Mega Millions.
  • Lorraine. $95. In honor of her mother’s 95 th birthday
