District Conference 2022 -- will be held May 20-22, 2022 at the Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa.  Early registration is open now -- $365 pays for your registration and meal package.

Guest Speaker

Today’s Guest Speakers, Virginia Juttner and Michelle Flemming from the Rotary Club of Hilo, discussed the Importance of Literacy in Education. 

Virginia Juettner has been a Rotarian for 21 years in Alaska, Arizona and now Hawaii. She is a retired educator and lives in Hakalau with her husband Bob. They joined the Rotary Club of Hilo Bay 2 years ago. Virginia's Rotary interests are peace and literacy.

Michelle Flemming has been with the Rotary Club of Hilo Bay since February. She is the current Preschool Director at YWCA Developmental Preschool. She enjoys spending her free time with her sons and husband.

Happy Dollars

  • Barbara ($25) To that Bryan and Lorrie Lindsey who helped move gravel yesterday.
  • Tim ($5) Showed a picture of todays sunrise. His neighbor to the east trimmed their trees, now able to get a great view of the sunrise.
  • Preston IV: ($10) Wendy & Preston's friend came back to pick up their dog Luigi.
  • Alan ($10) got estimates for taking down trees on property. He also found a sister he hasn't seen since birth, and will soon meet. 
  • Miyuki ($20) will be a grandma next year!
  • Art ($5) Just got back from the mainland- safely.
