Today's Inspiration
Richard noted that he was casting shadows and realized that his shadow didn't look any different from his 18-year old self. He assessed how he was feeling and he didn't feel any different from being 18 years old. He's wondering where the last 52 years went.

Guest Speaker
Guest Speaker Connie Ichinose, Hilo Rotary Club - Membership
Connie Ichinose from the Hilo Rotary Club discussed Membership today. She talked about the importance of engaging prospective and new members with the New Member Orientation and have them complete a New Member Bio to discover what areas of service they are most interested in. Engage Members who have been in the club for 2 years or less by asking for their feedback, ask if they would like to serve as a Rotaract or Interact Club liaison, or participate in special projects. Some other options the Hilo Club has explored are a Care Committee and focus groups. For Members who have been in Rotary for 3-10 years Connie suggested encouraging them to take on leadership roles and get their feedback on their club experience. During the pandemic she also suggested having Mini Mixers so Members can socialize and invite prospective Members.
