Volunteer opportunity - COVID Vaccine Scheduling for DOH -- Sharon Scheele. There are still volunteers needed for 3 hour shifts. She will send out the link to be able sign up to volunteer for 3 hour shifts.
Diaper Project -- Sharon Scheele and Geoli Ng. The flyer for the event is almost ready to go out. Geoli will send it as soon as it is ready. Her current request of RCHB is to spread the word to friends, family and acquaintances. There will be a link on how to donate on the flyer. Geoli said that they do not take open packages of diapers due to COVID and other health concerns. Tim H. put in the chat box that CFS might want opened packages for their DV shelter.
HRYF -- Richard Cunningham. Richard gave us a short tour of his woodshop and had 3 pieces of mango that he had pulled for the box he will be making. He asked the club -- straight edge or natural edge -- since he is making his box to community specs. Overwhelmingly, the club responded natural edge.
RYLA -- Tim Hansen RYLA is February 26 and 27th. Tim reported that there are over 100 participants and RYLA will happen this weekend. It should be noted that Tim had an awesome background picture that showed RYLA. He reported that there has been a background picture made for every RYLA pod that the students will be assigned to.
Junior Achievement -- Sharon Scheele. JA will be teaching classes virtually this year and Sharon is looking for volunteers to teach. There will be training available for the volunteers. Please contact Sharon if you are interested in being a JA volunteer at the elementary level.
Easter and the Foodbasket -- Sharon Scheele. In line with holiday traditions, Sharon is urging us to make contributions to the Foodbasket in time for Easter (April 4). You can make a check out to the Foodbasket, so you can tax benefits, and send the check to Sharon and she will make sure the Foodbasket receives the checks and knows that RCHB is supporting them.
Lorraine shared with the club that YuYok has been diagnosed with Stage 3 Lung Cancer. She has undergone surgery and is now facing additional treatment for this aggressive cancer. Lorraine asked that members reach out to YuYok and hold her and her family in their hearts.

Guest Speaker
Guest Speaker Patrick Kizehe Feb 24 2021
Wednesday’s guest speaker was Patrick Kizehe who joined us from Edmonton Canada. Patrick is the Founder of Giving Refugee Hope in Uganda. He was born in The Democratic Republic of Congo and is currently a Social Worker for children in Edmonton. Congo has 430 tribes with their own languages and many of the tribes are not considered true citizens of Congo. When he was a teenager Rwandans crossed into Congo. One day they heard gunshots in the school and the teacher sent them home. They hid in the forest and walked for four days until they entered Uganda. They were sent into the refugee camp and seven people lived in a small tent with minimal food and no medical assistance. After 2 years his father was able to join them in Uganda with some money from selling their house in Congo. Currently there are 1.5 million refugees in Uganda. After Patrick was able to relocate to Canada he decided to help other refugees in the camp by founding Giving Refugee Hope in Uganda. The board is made up entirely of volunteers so all funds raised go to assist refugees. Patrick shared photos of the orphanage, medical building, and training center the foundation has built. The Foundation also created a sewing machine project to teach women a skill so they can earn their own income and become self- sufficient. He reminded us that even small donations can have a positive effect.
