Paul Field
100th Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Anniversary Service Project

For the past four years RYLA students have participated in “Stewardship at the Summit,” removing invasive plants from the rainforest in Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. This year since both Rotary in Hawai’i and the park are celebrating their one hundredth anniversaries Rotarians Gail Takaki and Alan Kusunoki have suggested that we get 100 East Hawai’i Rotarians together to do a similar project in the park to celebrate the joint centennials.  Saturday, September 24, National Public Lands Day, has been chosen as the work day.  This is a fee free day in the park.  Paul Field and his wife, Jane, will head up the stewardship project and would like to give a 15 to 20 minute power point presentation to our club to explain what we need to do, why and how we do it, and encourage members to join in the September event.  Paul is a past president of the Rotary Club of Volcano.
