Recognitions

Art T. reported that AG Doug Adams and his wife, Deb were featured in the Hawaii Tribune Herald with a picture of the pair in front of the Yukio Okutsu Veteran's State Home.  The picture can be seen here:  https://www.hawaiitribune-herald.com/2020/09/08/community/boys-and-girls-club-assists-yukio-okutsu-state-veterans-home-with-meals/

Thank you, Doug, for the work you are doing to support the home and the Boys and Girls Club.

Happy Dollars

Keep your happy dollar donation in an envelope and bring it to the next in-person meeting. You may contact Deborah Beaver to make a payment with your credit card or mail your check to the club. Thank you.

In addition, you may now pay from our new online payment system: https://checkout.square.site/pay/f12444a0473348a5b24ff79bc663be77

Art T. contributed $5 to ask what we could do to support the Veteran's home at this time.  Rotarians in Action ensued!  Doug Adams responded that a card campaign would be the easiest to do and he will get information from the home to help support this.  If we opt to do more, Virginia and Bob J., Mary B. and Miyuki L. are willing to be on a committee to determine what kinds of projects would be appropriate.

Sharon is $5 happy.  Mika attends the Imiloa Educational Program and is loving it.

Bob and Virginia J. are $10 happy.  They want to recognize the builder of their 1938 home and it's subsequent owners as they make renovations to their home, most recently a bathroom.

Miyuki L. is $10 happy.  $5 for the Rotarians that have visited her kiosk at the Kinoole Farmer's Market on Saturday's and $5 for renovations in her bathroom.

Jim B. is $20 happy.  He wanted to acknowledge that RCHB was able to reschedule his talk and that he was camping for 2 weeks, with no shower capability.

Mary B. is $20 happy.  She wants to acknowledge fellow Rotarian John Gapp and his company, Dream Pipe Plumbing for the service he provided in a home that she is hoping will close on time.  Mary stated that she should have gone with John G. to begin with!

Tim H. is $21 happy for 21 years of marriage and had a 3-day breathtaking hike in the southern portion of the Big Island.

Guest Speaker -- Jim Becker
