District Conference 2021
- Will be held for the first time in Hilo commemorating 100 years of Rotary on Big Island at Grand Naniloa Hotel on May 14, 15 and 16, 2021.
The District is looking for volunteers to head up the decorations for the Conference. If you are interested in being a part of the committee (or even leading the committee) please contact me.

State Department of Health and UH Nursing request Rotarians to help for the face mask observation.
One or a pair of volunteers will count the number of people who (a) wear the mask correctly, (b) wear the mask in correctly and (c) don't wear the mask at a designated location from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturdays:

Richard Cunningham - HRYF
Richard is beginning his HRYF campaign to supply scholarships to island youth. His goal for the year is for us to raise $3000 as a club and as an incentive, for every $50 you contribute, you become eligible to win a Koa box custom made by Richard.
Tim challenged us to do better than $3000.
You can pay by check, call Richard at his gallery and use your charge card or use the link for Happy Dollars and email the treasurer what the dollars are for.

Barbara H. was $10 happy. Bryon L. helped her find someone to take care of an electrical problem at home.
Sharon S. is $16 happy with the happy dollars to be designated to HRYF. The $16 represent each year she has been in Rotary.
Alan O. is $20 happy -- $10 because he can register for the COVID vaccine and for HMC's capability and capacity to care for Mitch Roth's heart issue. It used to be that the care he got would have only been available in Honolulu.
Tim H. is $10 happy. He announced that Geoli Ng's company donated $1000 to RYLA. He also is happy that Mayor Mitch Roth was able to receive the care he needed.
Geoli N. is $20 happy. Her son is 20 years old today and she also enjoys working with Tim.
Benson M. is $10 happy. He sees that Preston Barnes IV is at the meeting. He related that he only sees him about once a year under other circumstances.
Tim H. added that he's also happy that 22 boxes of school supplies made it to Chuk.
Mike C. is $23 happy for the number of boxes that were sent to Chuk.
Miyuki L. is $5 happy. Welcome home Junichi.
Junichi N. is $10 happy. Thank for the welcome, Miyuki and he is happy to be home.
Virginia and Bob are both $10 happy and sad. The last of their closets are being lined in cedar and the house smells wonderful. They also acknowledged a fellow Rotarian Dr. Peter Eichman's passing.
