Mark Your Calendars
District Conference 2021
- Will be held for the first time in Hilo commemorating 100 years of Rotary on Big Island on May 14, 15 and 16, 2021. The event is now 100% virtual. Volunteers who have skills in videotaping and virtual platforms are requested. Please contact Alan Kusunoki at aakusunoki@aol.com
District Conference 2023
- Will be held in Hilo. The committee is looking for volunteers to help with the planning and a co-chair from East Hawaii.
Future Rotary International Conventions
- Taipei: June 12-16, 2021 Rotary International has announced that the International Conference will be virtual due to the ongoing threat of the COVID virus. Stay tuned for further news.
- Houston: June 4-8, 2022

Volunteer opportunity - COVID Vaccine Scheduling for DOH -- Sharon Scheele. Still looking for volunteers to support the project. Side note: Benson Medina sent an email out encouraging folks who have been trained and have already volunteered to consider volunteering more. Expected that help will be needed through the summer.
Diaper Project -- Sharon Scheele and Geoli Ng. Introduction of Jessica Histo.
HRYF -- Richard Cunningham. Have collected over $4000 for this year. Richard is still taking contributions.
Junior Achievement -- Sharon Scheele. Sharon has enough volunteers for the session. Thank you to the folks who volunteered. Stay tuned for dates for training.
Easter and the Foodbasket -- Sharon Scheele. Sharon and Geoli Ng will be going to the Foodbasket on the 25th to present the checks.
April work day -- Deborah Beaver. April 24th is the work day for all Rotarians around the State. Stay tuned for more news.
Club Social -- James Tyrin Club social is pushed back to March 25 -- invite a friend to share in the diversity of wines that will be tasted. James will send an email out.
Dictionary Project -- James Tyrin Update: Saturday, March 20 has been delayed for filming. Stay tuned for a new date.

Sharon S. is $50 happy for her anniversary and she is designating the funds to HRYF.
Curt S. is $25 happy. He has a good cup of coffee, he is still kicking and he loves the rain.
Mary B. is $25 happy. $5 for her second COVID shot and $20 to celebrate Tim, Benson, Richard and Steve for the 2nd set of scholarship interviews.
Sandra W. is $25 happy. Her health is returning, she got a COVID vaccine and her book is out!
Alan O. is $20 happy. He got his second COVID vaccine and gave kudos to Hilo Medical Center for a finely run event. He mentioned that he got an email from Irene who had a reaction to the vaccine.
David D. is $10 happy. He reported that Irene is doing better but joining via Zoom is challenging for her.
Randy H. is $20 happy and dedicated his dollars to HRYF.
