Guest Speaker

Guest Speaker Jennifer Schack, Regional Director of Community Outreach in Hawaii with the ALS Foundation, Sept 30, 2020.

Wednesday’s Guest Speaker was Jennifer Schack, Regional Director of Community Outreach in Hawaii with the ALS Foundation. The ALS Golden West Chapter has been serving Hawaii for 8 years. On October 10th at 9AM they will be hosting a Virtual Walk to Defeat ALS. The funds through this event raised supports the search for effective treatments and cures for ALS. In Hawaii,  Care Services are the main service they provide. Last year’s Hawaii walk raised $199,500 and had 635 participants. They have lowered this year’s goal due to it being virtual to $100,000 and are currently at 70% of that goal. They will have indoor and outdoor scavenger hunts to add activities to the walk. If you are interested in participating in the walk you can go to www.HawaiiWalkToDefeatALS.org and sign up.
