ADG Beverly Henkes introduced DG Ted Faigle. After a few biographical remarks, the DG got down to businesses. He reviewed the annual RI theme "the Magic of Rotary" and its origin and the D5000 theme of "Making Magic with Aloha". He then stated that it was decided by districts and RI, that districts should implement the Rotary Action Plan which was overseen by Stephanie Urchick before she became the RI President for this year. The Rotary Action Plans consists of four activities that increase our: 1. Impact by defining, measuring and tracking data from our service projects. 2. Reach outside of our clubs to demonstrate that we are people who work inside the community with other clubs, organizations and individuals. We are inclusive. 3. Engagment both within the club and the community. 4. Adaptation based upon new ideas or re-evaluated old ideas and take the risk for the future. Final DG Faigle hit upon some standard Rotary ideas--the creation of new clubs especially satellite clubs to attract new members who want to do things their way; the net expandsion of club membership by 2 members per year; an expansion of the Rotary Foudation Endowment by $1,000,000,000 or $1,000,000 per district; and, a new public image campaign to be conducted by the District with funding from Zone 26. |
