  • RCHB Community Grant
    • The board approved $2,500 for Ku'ikahi Mediation Center and up to $1,000 for Children's Justice Center of East Hawaii.
    • The call for application to the community grant has been closed. But urgent and meaningful requests of funding is always accepted.
  • Club meetings continue to be held online through the end of May. The form of the meeting in June will be decided later. One condition to hold an in-person meeting is the availability of Hilo Yacht Club (HYC) for the meeting. Tom Witthans said that HYC will open from June 8.
  • The board approved the subscription of the cloud-based accounting system (Xero).
  • The board approved the sponsorship of a teacher in Micronesia to the RI Peace Scholarship. There will be no financial obligation to our club. Tim said that the teacher is from Cameroon and graduated the university in Canada.

  • Reinstating the RCHB foundation that is 501(c)(3) non-profit organization was discussed. The benefit of having a tax-exempt organization is obvious. To make this happen, someone needs to step in to do all paperwork for the application of 501(c)(3) organization.
