Rotary Club of Hilo Bay
President Noumaru,

On April 30, we presented the masks we received to Higashi Hiroshima City.
I would like to thank you for sending it to us first, despite the fact that it is a very valuable time.
A total of 1,000 masks were presented, including masks sent from Hawaii and a collection of masks from the club's volunteers.
Also, we were presented with 10 cans of disinfectant solution.
Higashi Hiroshima City was very pleased with the product because it is still hard to find.
Of course, we introduced to it our sister club, Hawaii Hilo Bay RC.
The situation in Higashi-Hiroshima City is as of the end of April, two people have been infected, but we do not know if masks and disinfectants for infection prevention are in stock in the city. There seemed to be so few of them, and a teacher at the school told me that they were so short of disposable masks that they had to wash them and use them several times.
We, too, are considering continued support.
As for the situation of our club, our club meetings have been suspended from March to the end of May.
In the meantime, I thought that the regular meeting and the board of directors meeting online would be able to be done, but I gave up because it was not easily aligned.
In the future, the challenge is to be able to start building the Internet environment quickly.
From May, a message from the president and secretary will be posted on the membership page of our website every week.
It's a one-way type, but I thought it would be better to have one than nothing...
The most difficult situation at the moment is that companies are unable to operate, and they are busy processing loans and grants.
The lifting of the state of emergency declaration is at the end of May, but the way the people live is likely to change again in June.
The avoidance of close quarters is likely to continue for a while.
There's a feeling that we're going to avoid club meetings, other meetings, and banquets, and that's why we're not going to have traditional friendship. I have a feeling that the form is changing.
It's still a tough situation, but let's not lose to Corona and get through it.
Thank you so much this time.
Please tell the members of Hilo Bay RC that we appreciate it.
I'm looking forward to seeing you again with a smile on your face.
