Guest speaker: Roz Cooper from Honolulu via zoom.

Roz explained that she had planned on being in person at our meeting her computer was hacked including some of her financial information so travel was impossible for a while.

  • Roz summarized the current situation to end polio as we are past the point of not being able to stop our efforts. To stop before polio is eradicated means that it will resurge and the work done to date will be destroyed.
  • She was very interested in how we had doubled our goal of $1.5K to more than $3K.
  • The PIG ("Polio is Gone") worked very well and hard in RCHB along with a number of members who are a part of the Polio Plus Society.
  • Roz also introduced us to the Polio Pets Society which raises funds in the name of our pets. There are currently 5,200 members and the number is growing.
  • In closing, we ran out of meeting time, she urged us to wear our Rotary pins especially those associated with Polio Plus because it keeps the conversation going and gets us closer to a world without polio.
