Email about upcoming District trainings sent July 30, 2020.  
 
District 5000 is offering the Leadership Academy for Rotarians that would like to expand their duties beyond their local club.  The incoming class of 12 will begin August 29 and applications for admission are due August 21.  Minimum requirements for application is to want to expand duties and that you have been a past president of the club.  Lorraine will distribute information as it is diseminated.
 
District 5000 is offering a class for new Rotarians on Saturday, August 8, 2020  beginning at 9:00 am.  The is specifically for Rotarians who have been with the club less than 2 years and folks interested in joining Rotary.  Lorraine will send the link for the class once she gets it.

District Conference 2021

  • Will be held for the first time in Hilo commemorating 100 years of Rotary on Big Island at Grand Naniloa Hotel on May 14, 15 and 16, 2021.

Other Chair Announcements

Volunteer Opportunity at Boys and Girls Club today at noon -- Chester Cabral.  Chester has 18 people signed up to volunteer today.  The event will be at the Club's gymnasium and there are about 40 tables set up to sort clothing.  Water will be provided.  Please wear masks and practice social distancing.  
 
Mary B. reminded us that with photo opportunities, we need to consider social distancing and wearing our masks for the photos.

Al.an O. gave an update on the District 5000 Foundation meeting held on August 1.   He announced who was on the Board of Directors for the Foundation and who the Big Island Representative was.  Any questions about the Foundation can be forwarded to Lorraine and she will forward the questions to Foundation President MaryAnn Berry.
