District Conference 2022 -- will be held May 20-22, 2022 at the Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa.  Early registration is open now -- $365 pays for your registration and meal package.

District Conference 2023

  • Will be held in Hilo.  The committee is looking for volunteers to help with the planning and a co-chair from East Hawaii.
 

Future Rotary International Conventions

  • Taipei: June 12-16, 2021 Rotary International has announced that the International Conference will be virtual due to the ongoing threat of the COVID virus.  Stay tuned for further news.  Registration is open here:  https://convention.rotary.org/en

Announcements, Director / Committee Chair report

Mike C. -- District Grant

There is $552 for non-matching District Grants, $828 in matching District Grants, and $1182 for International Grants available this year.  Applications from Non-Profits for the non-matching District Grant should be submitted to RCHB by the end of June for review and consideration at the July 2021 Board of Director's meeting.  The matching District Grant typically goes to RYLA and Curt Sharp is evaluating some international applications for the International Grant.  Mike C. will send out the non-matching District Grant application to members to distribute to favored non-profits.
 

Tim H. -- Membership Dues

A big mahalo to members who have already paid their dues.  Tim has to respond to Rotary International by June 30 to account for all members.  Please make sure that you have paid your dues by then.  For those who want to pay by check, send your check to Rotary Club of Hilo Bay, PO Box 11506, Hilo, HI  96721.
 

James T.  -- Club Social

 
Our club social will meet in person at Temple on Thursday, June 10 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.  Seating is limited so please RSVP James to attend.  James sent an email out to all club members on Monday.

Mary B. is $20 happy.  She had a $12,000 bill to replace her tranmission in her car and is thankful she had the funds available.
 
Barbara H. is $5 happy.  She is enjoying her 3 chicks.
 
Allen O. is $10 happy.  Echoing Barbara, he will cherish the relationship he has with his 4 cows.
 
Tim H. is $5 happy.  He is trying to end a relationship with his neighbors rooster and will contribute $10 if someone can supply a solution.
 
Virginia J. is $10 happy.  She and Bob are going to attend a seminar about the eradication of fire ants and hopes they will get information to solve their fire ant problem.  Mike C. said it is an excellent presentation.
 
Tom W. is $10 happy.  He and his wife are flying out on Saturday to do some RV'ing.
